Admission guidelines for students from Quebec
Normally, one year of CEGEP study is considered equivalent to Nova Scotia Grade 12 for admission purposes. Students who complete the twoyear CEGEP program with a 70% average and receive the DEC will be admitted to the second year of a fouryear program. Exceptions may be made for very capable Quebec Secondary V applicants.
General admission guidelines applicable to all programs:

Minimum average of 70% (75% for Biology and Kinesiology)
Specific program admission guidelines:

Applied Science (Engineering) – CEGEP Precalculus Mathematics. CEGEP Chemistry is required for the certificate program (applicants without CEGEP Chemistry will be considered individually). CEGEP Physics recommended.

Biology – CEGEP Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum of 60 % is required in both.

Business Administration – CEGEP English with a minimum 70% and CEGEP Mathematics.

Chemistry – CEGEP Precalculus Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum grade of 60% is required in Mathematics and Chemistry.
 Community Development  CEGEP Mathematics.

Computer Science –CEGEP Precalculus Mathematics with a minimum grade of 60%. Students with CEGEP Mathematics must complete Math 0120 in the first semester of the program.

Economics – Bachelor of Arts  CEGEP Mathematics. Bachelor of Science – CEGEP Precalculus with a minimum grade of 60%

Environmental Geoscience – CEGEP Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum grade of 60% is required in Chemistry.

Environmental Science – CEGEP Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum grade of 60% is required in Chemistry.

Geology – CEGEP Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum grade of 60% is required in Chemistry.

Kinesiology  CEGEP Mathematics.

Mathematics – CEGEP Precalculus Mathematics with a minimum 70%.

Music –All prospective music students will complete a School of Music application. For students interested in the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Therapy degrees, a live (or recorded) audition is required with the application.

Nutrition – CEGEP Mathematics and CEGEP Chemistry. A minimum grade of 60% is required in Chemistry

Physics – CEGEP Precalculus Mathematics with a minimum grade of 60%. CEGEP Physics recommended.

Psychology – CEGEP Mathematics.

Students who have a Secondary V average of at least 75% may be considered for early fall admission before their first set of CEGEP marks are available. Students applying for early fall admission should include their final Secondary V marks and an official transcript of courses they are taking in CEGEP with their application.
To be considered for an entrance scholarship an admission application and all required supporting documents for admission must be received in the Admissions Office before March 1st.
